A group of loudly dressed people who parades through the streets playing lively music with various musical instruments for advertising of goods is called chindon-ya. In late May every year, the All Japan Chin-Don Festival is held in the Hagiwara Shopping Street, in which visitors can enjoy old familiar chindon-ya performance. In this festival, various other enjoyable events are also held, including a competition to determine the best chindon-ya performance in Japan, parades, and street performance.
